After a busy few days of top-class racing, we are keeping things simple today with **just one selection** — but it is one we like.

## 3:45 Musselburgh – TWO COMMANDERS

**2 POINTS WIN**
**Our Tissue: 4.0**

**TWO COMMANDERS** is a lightly raced three-year-old who we believe still has plenty more improvement to come, and today's return to seven furlongs looks an ideal opportunity for him to take another step forward.

There is plenty to like about his pedigree. He is a half-brother to several winners, including the useful **I Still Have Faith**, a winner from a mile to a mile and a quarter, and the useful juvenile **Ibiza Rocks**, who won over seven furlongs. His dam was herself a five-furlong winner at two.

Everything about his profile suggests that **seven furlongs should be well within his compass**, and importantly he remains very lightly raced with only four starts behind him.

He opened his account at **Catterick in June**, before taking another step forward when chasing home a useful prospect at Leicester.

His latest appearance back at Catterick was particularly interesting.

That was his **first experience of handicap company**, taking on more seasoned and streetwise rivals over six furlongs. He travelled into the race with plenty of promise but was ultimately caught out by his relative lack of experience, finishing a close third, beaten only around a length and a half.

For us, that was a performance which suggested there was considerably more to come.

Today he moves back up to **seven furlongs**, and we think that is an important positive.

### The Pace Angle

Perhaps the most attractive part of today's setup is the likely pace.

We expect this race to be run at a **strong gallop**, and that should play directly into the hands of Two Commanders.

Rather than having to manufacture his own race, he should be able to settle into a rhythm, travel behind the speed and hopefully use that extra furlong to good effect when the race begins to develop.

For a horse who still looked a little inexperienced last time, a strongly run race could be exactly what he needs.

The official going is currently **Good, Good to Soft in places**, and he has already shown his effectiveness on this sort of surface, having won at Catterick on good-to-soft ground earlier in the season.

### The Price

And then we come to the most important part: **value**.

Our tissue price is:

**TWO COMMANDERS – 4.0**

There was a small amount of **6.5 available first thing this morning**, which was considerably bigger than our assessment of his true chance.

Needless to say, **we have been hoovering up whatever we can at those bigger prices.**

The market has subsequently begun moving in the right direction, which isn't particularly surprising.

As always, identifying the horse is only part of the equation. **Getting the right price is what matters.**

Two Commanders is inexperienced and certainly hasn't finished improving yet, but that is precisely what makes him interesting. He has already shown enough ability to compete from his current mark, today's return to seven furlongs should suit, and the projected strong pace could bring about another career-best performance.

We think he has a very good chance.
