Racing Preview – Tuesday 25 August 2026 - Two Commanders Does the Business
One bet, one winner yesterday, with Two Commanders obliging at 5.3.
Hopefully plenty of you were on at the decent early prices. He was available at significantly bigger odds earlier in the day and it was pleasing to see the market eventually recognise his chance.
More importantly, he got the job done.
Today is another very low-key day's racing, and there is absolutely no reason to manufacture bets simply for the sake of having something to follow. We've concentrated on one runner at Musselburgh who we believe has slipped to a very workable mark.
4.45 Musselburgh – JOJO RABBIT

Liquidity remains fairly low at this time of the morning, so we'll see how the market develops as we get closer to racing.
Jojo Rabbit is a rather leggy gelding whose best form has generally come over the minimum trip. He handles a variety of surfaces, having shown form on Tapeta, soft ground and good to firm, so today's conditions shouldn't present any obvious concerns.
He improved considerably for his seasonal reappearance when landing a 13-runner handicap at Pontefract in April, before twice finishing runner-up later in the spring.
His fourth at Beverley last month was better than the bare result suggests. He didn't enjoy the smoothest passage and was unfortunate not to finish considerably closer.
Things again went against him on his latest visit to Beverley, where a wide trip made life difficult. We're happy to forgive that run.
The consequence of those recent defeats is important:
Jojo Rabbit is now down to an official rating of 62.
That immediately caught our attention.
His most recent victory came from 63, while he has won from higher marks in the past. Today's 62 therefore leaves him looking increasingly well treated if he can reproduce anything approaching his better form.
He also has a useful draw in stall 4 of six. The available course data suggests a slight advantage towards the higher numbers over this five furlongs, while today's ground is reported as good, good to soft in places.
James Sullivan knows the horse well and takes the ride again for Ruth Carr.
There are obvious dangers. South Parade arrives after winning at Ayr, Zuffolo scored at Ripon last time and Beerwah has been running consistently. This is still a Class 6 sprint handicap where relatively small margins can make a considerable difference.
Normally, these are exactly the races we prefer to leave alone.
But betting is about price versus probability, rather than simply backing horses in higher-class races.
We price Jojo Rabbit at 4.0, equivalent to a 25% chance.
At the 4.7 available as we write, the market is giving us enough margin over our tissue to get involved.
