Notebook Horse – 6/7/26 - Misunderstood

Today’s notebook horse is **Misunderstood** in the **4:30 at Ayr**. This is not necessarily a “today is the day” horse, but he is one I want firmly on the radar.A former French performer with clear back-class, Misunderstood looks to have more ability than he has shown so far in Britain. He is now with the **David O’Meara** yard and there were signs last time that he may just be starting to find his feet. His latest run contained a few positives. He was held up in midfield, made some progress inside the final two furlongs, stayed on, and was not given a hard time once his chance had gone. That was only his second try at a sprint trip, so there may still be more to come as he learns this type of test.Today he runs off **83**, down from **85** last time, with **Mark Winn** taking the ride. He is drawn in **stall 8**, which looks a workable position, especially with pace nearby to help him into the race. The key point for me is not simply today’s result. It is the profile.

Scope to improve again in sprint handicaps. He may need another run. He may need things to drop right. But this is exactly the type of horse I like to put in the tracker before the wider market catches on.
