There is some outstanding racing on offer today, headed by a fascinating afternoon at York, and this is very much a card where price matters. We have several horses high on our ratings that we would be perfectly happy to back at the right odds, but the early market is
The York Ebor Festival runs from tomorrow, Wednesday 19 August, through Saturday 22 August, and at the moment the forecast looks fairly favourable. Again the racing action is really poor so we will keep our powder dry for York. York is one of those racecourses where reputation can be expensive. The Knavesmire attracts big fields, valuable races and many of Britain's most powerful yards. That means runners from fashionable trainers are
There is nothing to get involved with today ( Monday 17th) , it is a really poor days racing. I thought I would switch our attention to one of my favourite flat meetings of the year- The Ebor meeting at York. York is widely regarded as one of Britain's fairest

It is an interesting day rather than a particularly busy one, with two horses making the betting list and another who tops our ratings but comes with enough reservations for us to leave him alone. The action centres on Carlisle before we head north to Hamilton this evening, where we
There are great racehorses, there are champions, and then there are those horses who become part of your own racing memories. Big Buck’s was one of those horses for me. The news that the great staying hurdler has died at the age of 23 is desperately sad. For followers
